Bill and Ted’s Excellent INCEPTION

Very cool. I thought that Inception was fairly decent, tons of plot holes, but well directed regardless and made for an enjoyable film.

Top 5 Superhero offspring I loathe/love
by Jeremy on Jun.16, 2010, under Blog
There is going to come a time in the Comic world where all superheroes are going to be great grandfathers, their sons/grandsons will still all look the same and the universe that they reside in will have to come to terms with the lunacy of ever letting Heroes give birth, age the kids quickly, and then parade them around as crap versions of their originators.
Just like in Movies when they decide that a kid will help a sequel, we find that it not only doesn’t, it becomes an albatross on whatever property it’s set upon (Mummy series, Indiana Jones etc.).
That’s not to say that ALL of them are bad, but in general I think that giving characters kids is often just a by product of lazy writing that will inevitably come down to killing OFF the character, or turning the kid bad (because really, why have TWO of the same character?).
This is the list of FIVE Superhero offspring that I Loathe and some that I love.
5. Connor Hawke -LOATHE

He’s not THE most loathsome of the bunch, he’s just the most needless. We have Arsenal, but evidently that was not enough, we needed Connor, who’s the same age as Arsenal and just (if not more) as skilled.
PROS: He’s also one of the more realistic characters to have been created, mainly because Ollie is/was a male slut to the likes of Colin Ferrell, and got his old girlfriend preggers in college.
CONS: What’s annoying is that he is considered one of the best martial artists in the DCU, he is also one of the best marksmen, all of that on his own, just for kicks, What? Why? That’s what we call “coincidence”, or I like to call Bull puckey. Usually a superhero with no powers, becomes powerful because of some great loss, a quest, this guy…he learned it in a monastary…you know…because.
With the deluge of bowman already in the DCU, another one just seemed boring. It’s like the plethora of Flashes running around. Why not give him something different to do, some different trait? We don’t need more cookie cutter characters.
