Amy & Jeremy

After months of seeing giddy pictures of Spacekicker in love, watching his romantic YouTube videos and hearing lustful stories about Princess Hotcakes, I still had my doubts whether or not this girl even existed. (I mean, these days you can do so much on Photoshop and digital editing software). So, this weekend while I was in California on business, I called Spacekicker on his bluff and basically said, “Let’s meet this so-called PHC.” I had to make sure, of course, that PHC wasn’t some ancient derivative of THC (the effects of which are also known to make you feel giddy.)

Without hesitation, he suggested we meet at a fru-fru place called Coral Tree Cafe in Brentwood (a relatively fru-fru part of LA). Knowing that “coral tree” is often the term given to red-flowered plants, I sensed this might be an indication that I was about to witness some major organic energy.

When I arrived at the cafe, there she was. The newest cast member to this season’s Spacekicker show - PHC - aka Princess Hotcakes. Or so she seemed. I’ve lived in LA. I know the rules. Everyone is an actor. This gal could have been a total fake, hired for the day to play a role. I had to do some more probing.

We said our hellos. She smiled. And that’s all it took. This girl was the real deal. Anyone whose smile lights up a room like hers did, is definitely worth holding on to.

In conclusion: PHC is not a fake. She is not a paid actress. Nor is she just a guest spot. She does, in fact, exist. And she is here to stay! And I am THRILLED. She is, by far, the COOLEST and most intelligent girl Spacekicker has ever dated! Confident, kind, spiritual and her eyes sparkle when she’s with our crazy Spacekicker! PHC gets my official stamp of approval - not that she needs it!

I wish them both many more happy moments together (can you guys believe they’ve already been dating for 9 months! Crazy!!)

Anyway - my trip to CA was awesome. Could have done without the valet parking and abnormally expensive fru-fru raw salad. But other than that - I was delighted to have had a few hours to catch up with my long-time awesome friend - Spacekicker!

:)

Next time you come visit us in the desert… let me know. Our venues have free parking, our gas prices are cheaper, and we have cafes that actually serve black, cheap coffee.

Kix Kayamanu

What do you do if your job in the real life isn’t quite paying the bills?
Well, you get another job in your SecondLife!

That’s right, boys and girls, yours truly has been self-appointed as the unofficial health and fitness correspondent in the world’s most robust virtual environment. My alter-ego avatar “Kix Kayamanu” (who incidentally has her own blog, Facebook profile, twitter feed, and gmail account) has been invited to write a health column called “Shape Up” in SecondLife’s leading virtual magazine The Looking Glass.

My (I mean, Kix’s) first article was published this morning called “Avatars Have Heart” – check it out here!

Too Early For Flapjacks

Okay, so I never thought I’d be one of those equal-opportunity daters. But I seem to be a bit more open-minded when it comes to dating lately. If I sense a connection with someone - despite his history - I’m more likely to entertain a first date. I try to reserve making any judgments until a thorough google-search is completed, and also support the innocent-until-proven-’he-has-baggage’ theory.

I recently met a guy for coffee. The date was engaging. Conversation was balanced and full of variety. Vibe was relaxed. For a first date, it felt like a second date could definitely be a possibility.

But then I Googled him. Come to find out, he had a wife who died less than 9 months ago (the day before Christmas, of all days) from a brain aneurysm at age 23!! My immediate thought was, “Is this too early to be out dating again?”

I’m all for second chances, but I gotta be honest, I think this is a red flag. I got an email from him requesting a second date. So I’m asking for your opinion…

Do I go on a second date or simply let the thought of this one die (sorry, perhaps that was a bad choice of words.)

Dating is like playing a game of CLUE. You trust your instincts, search the evidence to confirm your suspicions and hope that in the end you find the right combination of weapons and motives for a successful arrest. And you can play this game again and again and come up with different scenarios every time.

Unfortunately, after a while, you get sick of snooping around secret corridors only to keep coming up dead.

Ladies and Gents. I screwed up! I SCREWED UP!!!

Our wonderfully famous Fitness Psycho is out of the country.

What?! They let her out??? I thought her passport forbid it!

Well this is why we need new immigration law people.

Anyways, follow the beloved Fitness Psycho at her “Be Fit In Mexico” blog.

Should be fun!

Now if we can just get that fence built before she returns! Muahahah.

Has a new site, a blog actually, where you can get your healthy advice for the day. It’s called “Nevermind our health” and you should put down that hamburger you are eating and go to it…yes I mean now.

We have entered a generation where obtaining higher education has advanced towards a more techno-savvy and culturally-driven operation. Did you know that professors are creating profiles on MySpace as an additional way to connect with students? Online learning continues to be popular, but now classes like chemistry and biology are being offered (with a LAB component included) thanks to features like vodcasting and vlogs. With the advent of wikipedia, internet-based knowledge is being further extended into classrooms as a valuable resource. And, believe it or not, virtual teachers are already here check out the avatars in Second Life who have been offering real courses in economics and business in this alternate world. So why should offereing Dance Dance Revolution for college credit be any bit surprising?
