I didn’t go this year. I was invited, sometimes harassed for not going, but honestly after last year I don’t think my nerves could handle it.
San Diego Convention Center is just TOO small to hold the new wave of “Comic” fans (I place parentheses there because really it’s about people that are more into pop culture than comics), and in order to get to the panels you want, you must wait in line for a several ones you don’t want. ergh!
Plus the lovely Internets puts the best of the west out on the web for me to peruse and drool over. These are what I see as the best things coming out of Con below!

Set your Tivo’s, your DVR’s, or just do it the old fashion way and TUNE in to watch BEN 10: ALIEN FORCE entitled “Paradox” written by the wonderful wrangler of witticisms GEEKMEISTER himself. Congrats dude, can’t wait to check it out!

I think that one of the best things about having a young mind in your living vicinity is that you get a chance to help mold (corrupt) them into these weird beings we called “Adults”. During their stay under your tutelage they’ll often show you a distilled reflection of certain parts of your persona that you’ve probably thought long gone, but suddenly pop their head out to say “hi” to you when you least suspect it. I just woke up this morning with a few things to be grateful for.
* - A job. I moan and groan about it, but the job market is crap, and I’d rather be making money than not
* - My Roommates, and specifically Dave. He washed my car last night “It was too dirty to be out in front of our house”
* - My family. Whether it is my stepdad, mom, Aunts, uncles, cousins or siblings. They are all hilarious and I love them.
* - My lady. She’s magnificnet, beautiful, intelligent and full of poise and grace. I adore her.
What do you have to be grateful for?

yesterday was my traditional time out on the town with ol El Penguino *clap clap*. We ran over to Costco and picked up a Large Combo Pizza, sat in my car listening to AC/DC (which I forthrightly described as White Man’s tribal music) talked about women, music and how fat we are for eating the entire pizza (a half each W00t!).

What a fun weekend. Me and My honey took off in the wee hours of Saturday morning to San Diego. Got there and ate at a cute diner while looking at the dark clouds just off the coast.

I love four day work weeks. Fridays are just a spectacular do nothing day no matter where you are. But do nothing, is exactly what I won’t be doing, I do after all have a rewrite to complete, scrabulous games to play and of course tonight is Dr. Who night with my local Whovian friends.
I’ve talked with my family and they all seem to be doing good (aside from my mom liking Indiana Jones), and yet there was a long moment this last couple of weeks I found myself kind of depressed. It’s weird, when I take a step back, to look at all the blessings that I have in my life. To look at all the blessings that WE have as a nation and yet, still feel unsatisfied, lacking, hollow.
That was the week. Now don’t worry, I’m not feeling so “UN” right now. I figured out along time ago that when the funk begins to trickle in, it’s best to eat right, work out, pray, and get as many naps as you can in - tends to make the funk flee.
So not much to talk about (I hear the Scrabulous game calling). I hope you are all well, leave comments at your leisure, questions, etc and have a great weekend!
