Remember when you were a kid… Wait, strike that. If you happen to be near, or a little over 30, remember when you were a kid and there were only SO MANY shows that were on the air? We all seemed to have seen the same episodes of Brady Bunch or Gilligan’s Island, not to mention the social connectedness that came from the shared experience that was Saturday Morning Cartoons.

I didn’t go this year. I was invited, sometimes harassed for not going, but honestly after last year I don’t think my nerves could handle it.
San Diego Convention Center is just TOO small to hold the new wave of “Comic” fans (I place parentheses there because really it’s about people that are more into pop culture than comics), and in order to get to the panels you want, you must wait in line for a several ones you don’t want. ergh!
Plus the lovely Internets puts the best of the west out on the web for me to peruse and drool over. These are what I see as the best things coming out of Con below!

I love Action movies. Truth be told, they are my favorite. I’d like to watch a good action movie over almost every other genre. Movies like Predator, Die Hard, Rambo, all of them. Action is grand, and 80’s action movies are grander.
So dear readers, what are some of your favorite action scenes? Find a youtube scene, put the link in the comments, or just write what you liked about action movies, certain segments etc. I wanna hear what you like.

Started watching the “Wire”. It’s serious, high minded, kind of infuriating because I get the sense that it’s more true to life than the normal “cop” type fare that comes on the tube. Slow to start, I’ve heard it only gets better, we shall see…we shall see!!! (more…)
