The War on Scientology

I’m amazed. AMAZED at technology…the good and bad applications.

If you have started seeing reports, hearing stories about the Internet war on Scientology, I’m hear to tell you it’s real and by far one of the most interesting phenomenon I’ve ever seen hit the good ole web.

There has been an ongoing controversy on whether or not Scientology is a cult, religion, or pyramid scheme. In Germany for instance Scientology is illegal as the courts there recognize it as a money making cult.

Now. I used to think that Scientology was just a little weird religion. I laughed at the South Park video making fun of some of it’s theology (some of which certain people within the organization denounce, though their writings say otherwise, so does the audio of their fearless leader L. Ron Hubbard), I scoffed at Tom Cruise and his wacky antics jumping on couches, and his latest video strangeness.

But what’s interesting as you begin to look, investigate and watch the way the actual church acts, the pure malevolence by which they react to people that question them, and the strange and creepy way that they terrorize their detractors you begin to get the feeling that these people are something more terrible than a mere innocuous new age religion. They are…quite frankly, dangerous.

I have known scientologists, and generally the ones that I have known were people that were just starting out, playing around with dianetics and some other small stuff, which in itself could be unharmful (though i doubt it). But then I’ve lived in Hollywood to know enough people that cut off friends and you hear the strange stories of the followers doing some pretty wacky stuff.

So that leads me to the current war on scientology.

There is a chat room, and in this chat room are some people that have started to make a little noise. They like me started seeing the videos from xenutv.com (if it’s down go look it up on youtube) and the constant ANGRY tactics followers of scientology use. They notice the litigious nature of the CoS when it comes to ANYTHING pertaining to them.

So, these hackers, trollers, youtubers, etc have decided on a name “anonymous” and have issued a declaration of war against scientology. Since the declaration has been sent out they have in the following week successfully taken down most of the scientologists websites, a tactic to gain media attention, and since have moved on to other tactics.

Scientologists, I believe, have brought this upon themselves. In EVERY other religion (almost) the theology of that religion is out there for public scrutiny. Scientologists however consider their religious papers proprietary and SUE anyone that releases these documents.

Well, I’ve been watching some of the hacked videos, the released audio from L. Ron himself, and reading the “secret” documents that have been taken and passed onto the internet. And I have to say, these people are pretty close to insane.

In fact. I was almost shaking mad after watching the Big Brother type tactics they used against the BBC reporter Tom Sweeney.

I was infuriated after watching the way they malign and smear anyone, ANYONE that criticizes them.

If you want your religion fine, I don’t care how silly it is, but why hide it? Why hide what you believe? I like so many others have come to realize it’s because it’s a bait and switch routine. They bring you in at a smaller level and then you are paying for ways of reaching higher levels.

It’s sad, and it’s followers, I believe are to be pitied and prayed for.

THIS is the page where you can see the people that are waging war on Scientology and why.

I applaud them.

This is the video put out by the BBC WATCH IT.

A guy who’s becoming my hero….his Blog, watch his vlogs, its really scary how the scientologists verbally attack him.

so secret.. it’s like they’re all spies….

seriously though.. they’re crazy! i totally agree with your question of “why hide it?” it’s never good when you have to hide what you believe, never.

on a side note.. your site successfully crashes the iphone safari 3 out of every 5 times i surf to your corner of the internet. i think you should get an award or trophy.
