. -sent from the Mack-Most of America’s populace think it improper to spank children, so I have tried other methods to control my kid when they have one of ‘those moments.’ (okay, pretend my kid isnt 20yrs. old) One that I found effective is for me to just take the child for a car ride and talk. They usually calm down and stop misbehaving after our car ride together.

I’ve included a photo below of one of my sessions with my son, in case you would like to use the technique.

Poor poor child….really…he CALMS DOWN?! I find that hard to believe. Here I was imagining a heart-felt moment of father-daughter or mother-son bonding on the flip-side of a child’s freak out….only to find that this soothing, car ride wrought with gentle communication actually turned in to THIS….the speed sign marked at 99 mph is a nice touch!

Ok, hard to keep my train of thought after all this.
First, LOVE Calvin and Hobbs! So much deeper than just a comic strip.
Second, I didn’t even know that there was a new Knight Rider coming out. How did I not know this?
3rd, love that e-mail. Too funny.
Last, so… One Tree Hill last night. Any comments?

Though I hate to say it, Huckabee does kind of look like an ewok - ha! When I was a kid, I used to think it would be fun to live in a store or museum for a short time….but IKEA…that’s genius!!!

Re: One Tree Hill….we’re watching the first season on DVD…..so we’re not quite caught up enough to watch the new ones……but I have a feeling that we will be soon:)
