That’s hilarious! BGB will think it is particularly funny and probably knew that is what cats have been up to all along, hence his distaste for them. Or maybe it is actually the cat that he thought he offed that is now hunting him down for attempting such a deed. [ The cat was inhabiting our home when we first bought it and we were having a difficult time discouraging its choice of our resisidence? Interesting thought!

Amanda watched Highlander the Source the other day. It was on Sci Fi a few months ago.

she said she did enjoy it. The villain is cheesy as hell but she said it was pretty decent.

As for the fishing, that’s just normal noodling. Those aren’t record breaking fish even, though I’d say theses guys are pretty good. A good noodler has an amazing capacity to hold his breath and will always have bite marks–because catfish have teeth of course. At least they don’t waste anything on bait.
I like the picture. I like cats, but they are such snobs that they generally set themselves up for this type of thing.
Yeah, Josh’s site deserves a good blasting–he hasn’t even updated this year! Hello!

Oh, yeah. Lots of people noodle in Ok, La, Ms, Ak and I’m sure we have some here in TX too, but we aren’t as famous for it. I’ve only seen it on video–never in person.
See, catfish like to lay at the bottom of ponds and wait for food to come by or float down. See they’re bottom feeders (nature’s garbage disposal). So noodlers find a good spot, hold their breath and go down and feel for them. Usually they are backed up in little “caves” and the noodlers just feel for their open mouths, jam their arms in and grab hold around the gills and pull them out. These guys were feeling on the ground where they open rub the cat’s belly to keep it calm until they find the mouth. (At least I think that’s what I remember them doing.) It can be a pretty dangerous sport as the big ones can drown a man.
You should google Noodling and see what kind of pics you find. These fish can be absolute monsters!

I don’t know why the word “open” is typed before “rub.” It makes no sense.
Also, I just realized that I use “see” too much when explaining. Sorry.

You know, it would be helpful to me if you copied your comment to my page, so I’d know to reply because I only know if you ask something if I happen to come back to that post on a whim. Ya know? Just a suggestion.

Pond Weed Clean-Up, A Neighborhood Effort…
After answering several inquiries regarding our success at eradicating weeds from Sluice Pond and raising funds to establish weed control, I thought an article describing a successful process would help others in Massachusetts and New England….
