Blogopoly!

Hi my name is Jeremy…and I have a problem.

I am a blogoholic. Yes I’ve said it! It’s out there for all of you to see. The dirty laundry is aired and now you can scoff and mock me all you want. We are as sick as our secrets my friends, sick. as. our. secrets.

Things like Myspace, Friendster, Xanga, orkut, and Blogger.com have given me far too many countless hours of peeping joy. I sometimes get that illicit thrill of someone that is looking into a life that is not their own, seeing the problems, the solutions, the relationship pains etc, and I love every bit of it. I am a voyeur in this cyber world, for good OR bad.

Like I said i’m obsessed.

With the creation of user friendly, easily modified free sites like Myspace, it becomes even more of a burden to tear myself away from Tom and his gaggle of followers. Crazed pictures with maddened diatribes on the state of everything in the world from how to break into hollywood too dying your cat blue!

Blogger is the worst. It has this feature that lets you just keep looking at the NEXT blog. There is no end my friend to your trek through the lives of others. It will start and never finish, till your brain is numb and your electric bill is too high.

I started with this one today. Perusing his problem with bacterial infections and blotchy skin and ended with The Bowling Syndicate, and really didn’t I have to stop there?

Everyone uses codewords, innuendo on the off chance that some loved one or friend might happen upon the billion and one page and realize that it’s theirs! *gasp* then the secrets would be out! They’d find out that you like girl A, but she likes Guy B and the human soap opera continues.

It’s better than most the DVD’s that I buy and watch.

The only problem is that you get hooked into some people’s blogs and then they stop writing. It’s like they weren’t pulling in the Neilsens! It’s that cliffhanger ending to a show that gets canceled and you are left totally unfullfilled for the rest of your days, wondering “did Angel survive the coming onslaught?” and left a little preturbed that translates into a bad attitude to those around you!

Well okay, maybe it’s not that bad but….

I digress. What I’m saying is that I love the internet. i love that people write things for the world to see. I love that communication between races and cultures are becoming more and more common place. It’s verbal democracy, fingertip freedom that can never be stopped and flies around the globe at the speed of light. I fear, however, that we are quickly reaching a technological stage that is equal to those before the Tower of Babel. A complete culture speaking the universal language of music, art, culture and commerce. And of course we know what happened to them!

Now…I have to post this on my 4 blogs (you know, the “everyone” blog, the “not for everyone blog”, the one for “Noone”- that’s the one that tells the horrible truth, and then the obligatory “talk to God” blog, I know you all have them!)
