Man if I get that crazy tonsil that I had gotten last year I’ll be mad…so pray for me you dolts I need it!!!
STOP AND LOOK HERE For Transformer action

I’ve been having an amazing amount of sinus problems as of late….the answer -> it’s called OD’ing on Sinus meds. The only problem with this meds are that I swear that when they say (good for 6 hours) they weren’t lying. At 6:01 I suddenly wake with a start and can’t get back to sleep…grrrrr.

It looks like that the work I had done on my fuel gauge, that resulted in a hole in my door from the repairers is broken again. I don’t know why they can’t get it right, it’s driving me nuts! So tomorrow I bring my car in yet again!
*sigh*

I also watched a borrowed copy (from Crochet Queen) Serendipity last night. You know, a romantic flick staring the male Meg Ryan, John Cusack. When i had first seen the film it was in a theater that had only women in it and it was right after 9/11. It seemed that everything had changed in the world and this overwhelming feeling of fright was palpable wherever I seem to go. So…I went and did the next right thing, go see a movie that offered hope of love and destiny and of course Jeremy Piven as a lovable sidekick.

It’s better than I remembered it. Kate Beckinsale is oh so cute and John Cusack has that frantic “This is what is meant to be” look that seems to have grabbed my money over the years. Overall fun.

Kofi Anan has written an op-ed in the LA times (registration required) Here. He comes off as a well thought out political reader, too bad that yesterday he was preempted by Senator Norm Coleman with his telling call for Kofi Anan’s resignation.

This man that is head of maybe the second most powerful establishment in the world, also resided over one of the biggest scandals in the history of world relations. The fact that his son complicit with France and russia basically bolstered the support of undermining food for the poor and putting money into Saddam’s weapons coffer is far more than appaling, it should be prosecuted by the UN’s beloved World Criminal Court.

What we have seen is yet another example of the foolishness of our investment in a machine that is run by despots and greedy politicians. I’ve always thought that the Un, though a place that is nice for us to come and talk, should have no other authority.

Democratic whistleblower Dick Morris (though I disagree with him half the time) writes a far more eloquent piece describing the problem of unelected un accountable foreign bodies.

In other news, last night we had the Deputy Director of Health and Human Services speak at our church. It was national AIDS Awarness day and he spoke at length about the battle that is ongoing in America, Africa and around the world to find a cure to stop this terrible disease. He also commended our church with its work with Project Anglefood which delivers food to people infected with HIV/AIDS.

His main thrust though was the outlook on the eternal and not the temporal. Instead of us looking toward what we can do for ourselves, how at where we are right now, can we help those around us?

We who are Christians have an obligation and the privilege to show the love of Christ, to be Christ like to those around us. Whether it be financially, or even a kind word. We sometimes are the only example of “Christs love” that some people in the world will ever know.

As someone close to me said “Christianity is a program of attraction”. People didn’t follow Jesus around because he was good looking (the opposite actually), but because of his caring, his willingness to stop to teach those that people thought were unteachable. His healing, his joy. How much more should we that are in the most privileged society in the world, step out of our comfort zones to do some of the same?
Anyways. Jesus was not a liar nor a lunatic, but the Lord himself that said some of the most radical things ever to be said.

Anyways, I hope that everyone is getting ready for the holiday season…songs of Here comes santa claus and Rudolph will already probably bring me to a neurotic rage, but Tis the Season!!!

BTW I wish I was at the Mary Poppins re release premiere I love that movie!

I really hope you are feeling better! But keep your spirits up and seek comfort in the fact that your tonsils are doing their job - it’s the body’s way of keep infection in the throat and prevent it from spreading.

In the lyrics of Sinnead O’conner (but slightly modified): “And i pray, oh my god, and i pray… i pray every single day - for Jeremy’s tonsil-solution”
