Yesterday was a serious Monday for me. I was kind of wallowing in despair of sorts, but I did the right thing, at least I think I did…
Usually when the world comes crushing down on my gigantic skull I sulk, roll up into my melancholy defensive posture. Throw on some Ani DiFranco and sulk. Maybe even roll out the guitar to play some blues and watch a Chuck Norris.
But last night I realized this isn’t where I’m meant to be, where I’m called to be and I wasn’t going to be there anymore. So I went to the handy dandy website Crosswalk.com and looked up the word “trust” in the Bible. Because inevitably it comes down to if I believe this stuff in the Bible or if I don’t. If my faith is such that it can be used and used when I’m in crisis. So I went through all the versus and guess what? Yeah…I felt better. God is bigger than all this stuff in my life. Shoot I look at how much better I have it than those out there in Somalia, Iran, or China and look at all the “coincidences” that seem to pop up in my life and I realize that yes, my steps are ordered. I’ve given control of my life to God, I think most of us know that about me. I’m a crazed lover of that dude called Christ and all he had to say. So, below are the scriptures that I pulled up. There’s a lot of them. If you believe then you might get some comfort out of these words that have traveled down through the millennia. If not, well, good luck…but I’m telling you that this has helped me, maybe it can help you too.

Thank you, Jeremy. This will be a great resource for when I need to find a verse on trust. Reminds me of the nursery song:
"Trust and obey,
For there is no other way,
To be happy in Jesus,
But to trust and obey."
