Do you have to be Christian to have influence on the world? Or do you have to become Christian to be influenced by those who are? Can’t we all just be humans? ![]()

It’s actually a book on those of us Christians that feel that we want to make an impact in the world (ie…politics, television, movies etc.) Anyone can make an impact, in fact I believe everyone does, but they do it from different points of view. Christians obviously are trying to get a very specific view across, hopefully people will like the view and adopt it. If not, well that’s why we have free will and all that jazz.

See see see see.. why do you feel the need to recruit? That’s what I don’t get. It boggles my mind to the point of it wanting to explode. Sure Free will and all that jazz, but if your goal is to recruit others than I don’t get it.
I don’t understand it, but maybe I don’t have to. Oh well.

I don’t see the problem with recruitment…it’s not like you are forcing anyone into anything, you are presenting a way to live your life on what you deem is truth. We believe that we are living our life the right way, so of course we are going to tell people about it. It’s like someone going on a diet and loses all this weight, you want to share the info with others just out of sheer joy. People can take it for what it’s worth. I don’t see why people get wound up over it…if they don’t like it, just walk away. But more people get offended that someone holds an idea of what truth is

I have no problem with what your idea of truth is or what anyone elses idea of what truth is.
Can I just get a badge or something that says We Already Tried To Get This One.
I’ll need badges from all the majors. And at least 5 or 6 from the mormons as they will believe the first 3 or 4 of them are fakes.
Tee hee

"We" being "you"…I mean I don’t know what your religious or non-religious experience is. Religion is primarily a private thing. We have this great big world and everyone is vying for everyone’s belief, atheists included. So you decide which one you think is the truth and move on…But those of us that believe in eternal life, hell and God being good and forgiving of course aren’t going to let our fellow humans go down a road we think would be harmful. Would your mom let you walk into a train without trying to stop you? of course not! That’s why other Christians say "Hey, this is better then the train track, come hang with us, you’ll have a life better then you can imagine!"
That’s my outlook anyways…nasty ninja!

I see everyones truths for what they are and leave my mind open to all possibilities. I don’t have to believe in this religion or that religion to believe there is good and there is bad. Or to know the difference between them.
I don’t pick which one I think is the truth and move on because the only real truth in this world lays within yourself. Wait, that makes me a Buddhist! Damnit, I’ve been tricked!
Either way I’ll be an outcast for my own beliefs. Those who believe their truth will belive I am no good for not believeing their truth because that truth compells them to do so. So be it. I can live with that.
I have no problems with ANYONES beliefs. The fact that we are all grouped by them makes me sad.

you’re right no one has to believe anything. But like you I kept my mind open, but I found what I believe to be THE TRUTH. I mean everyone has their own ideas on what truth is, a sociopath thinks that his are truth i’m sure, or what he is doing is right, i just think truth is not an internal force, but something that is more of a law, like physical laws in science. We are grouped by everything, religion, skin color, weight, intelligence, that’s the human condition-we group ourselves. I agree, that’s sad
